How It All Began

A few years ago our daughter was getting married and she had fallen in love with a pair of shoes with a floral design printed on them. They were out of stock everywhere, so I offered to paint her a pair. When I shared a picture of them on Instagram, my page literally blew up with positive comments and The Pretty Wedding Shoe Company was born.

Our hand painted shoes have tied the knot all over the world including the UK, USA , Dubai and Australia!

To say we have gone from strength to strength is an understatement, but I think our core value of wanting each pair of wedding shoes to be hand painted to an exceptional high standard, with love, has been behind our success. Thanks to our Totally Bespoke option brides can choose to express their own unique love story through their shoes.

I was so lucky to have my own beautiful love story with my husband Andy, before I sadly lost him to cancer in February of 2021. He was an extremely kind man and he supported me in so many ways throughout our 39 years together. No more so in encouraging me go with my dream of working for myself in the art world, as I left my former career as a staff nurse back in 2002.

He built me a wonderful art studio and from that little corner of heaven at the bottom of the garden, I  shared my love of decorative painting, both teaching and creating painting projects for Crafts Beautiful Magazine.

Later I realised another of my dreams by becoming a published author with my book, Rustic Cards by Search Press and then went on to co author two further books.

Today you will find me in my new barn conversion, bringing Brides’ ideas to life and helping to make their wedding day that little bit more special and memorable.
